Khoodeelaar! The Brick Lane, Whitechapel and Stepney London E1 area campaign against CrossRail hole plot, noting the fact that yours is the only local London news web site [so far] that has published this bit of information to our knowledge.
We also note that while the uk economy is heading for a crisis and Gordon brown’s unforgettable slogan featuring ‘prudence’ is looking ever so unreliable, the very ‘mainstream’ media that are acknowledging the impending economic crisis are also the ones refusing to say anything similarly gloomy about CrossRail!
Somehow there is a strange and illogical agenda that has been at play in the publishing policy of the mainstream media that will only be forced out into the open when disaster strikes. Just as has been the case over the massive millennium dome-like overruns in the 2012 London Olympics hosting stunt and related wastefulness…
Based on all the pervious propaganda media events staged at the behest of Ken Livingstone, it is quite easy to predict that the scheduled questioning will be another vacuous charade.
Unless an unprecedented change or unforeseeable event occurs between now and the time that the actual questions are put thus making the exercise real, the ‘questioning of Peter Hendy’ as advertised, will be yet another misleading and propaganda stunt with ordinary people of London being given yet more spin and fabrication for the benefit of Ken Livingstone.
There will not be the rigour, the demand for evidence to back up any of the promotional statements of the TfL.
And the event will be of short-term benefit to the even shorter-term entourage that has been promoting Livingstone’s career while being paid for the disservice from the public funds that were supposed to produce a robust, rigorous and searchingly accountable representation for the people of London. The Greater London Assembly is – and has been turned into – an anti-democratic bureaucracy that is doing the cause of representing London people no favours whatever.
