The BBC Politics Show, ‘London segment’ in effect admitted today that Crossrail is crass!

That it was diverting money from real transport urgencies and priorities.

This has happened now a full three years and two months since the same programme broadcast a significant length of item about CrossRail. That the BBC programme was a result – a result, stressing here – of the KHOODEELAAR! campaign against “…Big Business looting ploy crassly conceived Crossrail scam…”

The BBC did not say that on the programme. But that is what happened. We shall now examine in detail the BBC’s role on Crossrail.

This is the first part of the examination.

For YERARS now, we have said the Crossrail scam was a CRASS one. That it was not relevant to the transport needs of the people in and around London. We have used these phrases carefully.

We have created the contextual phrases on solid evidence.

And time after time.

Our findings have been substantiated and backed by others.

Others that have not wanted to find themselves doing anything like giving credence to our findings. But the evidence has been incontrovertible. On each occasion. And they have backed us.

They have echoed us.

And they have proven us right. And they have in effect admitted to having been wrong.

Now, even Tom Brake, one of Nick Clegg’s embarrassing men of straw, flies in to make an appearance on the BBC Politics Show and ‘contributes’ to a de facto denunciation of the very CRASS Crossrail that he,. Brake, idiotically touted for and peddled in the UK House of Commons during 2005-2006 when he should not have done any such thing.

Before the Lib Dem Tom Brake today [Sunday 28 June 2009] made his break from his own braying role for Crossrail, we were entertained to the spectacle last week of another Boris Johnson kitchen cabinet member uttering confession on the Politics Show.

That confessing Boris Johnson deputy said he had been CRASS!

The word is very much an integral part of the KHOODEEKLAAR! dissecting reports on Crossrail.

The confessing crass Boris Johnson deputy has already quit his post.

But Boris is still in post. A post that Boris has abused in peddling Crossrail.

We make this point today to reiterate what we had told Zia Trench in March 2006.

Zia Trench was then working on the Politics Show and she visited the East End of London in March 2006 putting together a package for broadcast on the Show on Sunday 26 March 2006.

The broadcast version of the interviews with Khoodeelaar! had not included most of what we had told her. And the ‘studio’ discussion with Party MPs [Sunday 26 Maqrch 2006] also failed to address the real central defects and flaws of the CRASSrail scam.

So KHOODEELAAR! told the BBC that they had broken the agreement and the evidential, legal and constitutional conditions that we had set out prior to our agreeing to speak to the programme.

The BBC has failed so far to correct the negligent presentation.

Now that they [= the BBC and their co-couriers] have admitted that Crossrail is crass and as they have also shown [in that London segment of the Politics Show broadcast on the past 3 hours Sunday 28 June 2009] just how ignorant Boris Johnson’s ‘transport’ ‘image courier’ is, we are asking the BBC to start telling the hole truth about Crossrail.

Your piece promoting the Crossrail lobby is misleading about the substantive issue of the transport service that the people of London actually need and one that is within the reasonably available resources to fund and maintain. You say convoluted 20 year history, in almost the same vein as has been used by the touts for Big Business contractors and their5 subsidiary counterparts from all manner of ’specialist fields and enterprises’  pushing for the scam as it is in the Crossrail Act. You make no mention of the literally hundreds of objections, many of them submitted with detailed references to the central contractors of the then CrossRail Bill. ALL the evidence against CrossRail was suppressed by both Houses of Parliament. In fact the setting up of the Select Committee, as defined on 19 July 2005 in the House of Commons, was done with such intentional defiance of constitutionality that the Select Committees ended up relying on the excuse as they barred presented of all evidence central to the Crossrail scam. Hence it remains a scam. In the irrational propaganda and hype conducted for Big Business forces behind the scam and fronted by Ken Livingstone and a number of touts from the City of London during the period before the corruption of the City and Big business became admitted over the past 10 months, they referred to Crossrail not as another transport project or railway line or lines but as a cult event. And the touts acted as the cult’s preachers and liens of dubious priests. You are doing the same thing by using milder imagery. What you have said in your piece is another proof that Crossrail is NOT primarily about transport in London. Many things, but not transport. And this has been supported by the evidence found over the past six years in the peddling propaganda promoted by the very small number of zealots working for Big Business bent on looting the UK public of £Billions under the contrived Crossrail. In the period between June 2003 when the lying lobby for CrossRail published a letter addressed to Tony Blair at No.10 Downing Street by paying for it as an advertisement in the London EVENING STANDARD and June 2009 when some of the crassness of that scam are being admitted albeit by default, there has been no evidence that London public transport needs a Crossrail. There is evidence and has remained consistently valid in the same period that transport networks in London are not being administered by dedicated, accountable management and agenda. That like in the rest of the public sector, a lot of waste is being inflicted at the expense of quality and that the waste is linked with various private interest and careerists dominating the actions. Neither the two Houses of Parliament nor the London Assembly nor the local Councils have been seen to be doing the one thing that justifies their existence and their money. Scrutinise the executive. And the result is the unending wastefulness of CrossRail. As of the 2012 Games hosting. And what has the mainstream media done to compensate for the deficit displayed by all official agencies and forums of scrutiny? Not anything much at all. As you have shown once again. In fact your role can be cited as perpetuating the deficit of the political, ‘constitutionally’ established forums. Suppress the truth and let the public lose out. Indefinitely.  We, the ordinary people in and around London say scrap Crossrail. It is not necessary. Fund and maintain and upgrade the existing transport infrastructure in and around London instead.

In the days leading up to the much vaunted Eddington Study report, the London Guardian media organisation led a miniature plug for Crossrail. That was done as part of the Guardian’s entente with Ken Livingstone’s career plan. The Guardian must have seen an advance copy of the Eddington Study. On that basis but dishonestly withholding that information from readers, the Guardian published a speculative piece about what the Eddington report was going to say about Crossrail. The Guardian condemned Eddington in the hours before the actual official publication of the report. But such was the reach of the Big Business Crossrail lobby within the BBC that the BBC London news unit’s ‘transport reporter’ at the time, Andrew Winstanley filed a most false and untruthful pro-Crossrail item broadcast live on the lunch-time edition of London News on BBC TV. Winstanley repeatedly claimed to have been told by Eddington that if Crossrail was not backed by the UK Government of the day then the entire London economy would come crashing down. Or words to that effect. That was in four years ago! That was a lie. Winstanley repeatedly claimed to have been told by Eddington that if Crossrail was not backed by the UK Government of the day then the entire London economy would come crashing down. Or words to that effect. That was in four years ago! That was a lie. What Winstanley was whining for was very much what the stratfordman is lying for. Between Winstanley and Stratfordman, there is not an iota of sense. Let alone truthfulness. Neither has been to East London., neither has seen the reality of what the London economy in the London boroughs are like. In inner London boroughs are like. How poverty is created by Council policy. How poverty is kept up by local Councils. How falling schools make sure that school leavers in the majority leave school with no qualification or claim to compete for jobs … They are condemned to degeneration., In Stratford and in Whitechapel and in polar and in hackney and in Greenwich. And the evidence daily shows that the UK economy cannot afford to waste public money. Especially where that money at 2009 prices is anywhere between the £16 Billion the peddlers of Crossrail say it will cost and the likelihood by historic trends and indices and criteria to go up to anywhere approaching or approximating to double that amount. In further particular, where that same money is badly needed IN LONDON by the sinking tube network. By ALL measurements and yardsticks, the EXISTING tube network in London is by far the more important London transport priority. Crossrail is the bizarre element in the picture. Not Khoodeelaar! The time-to-draw-a-line-under-it-all merchants have been crawling around Westminster this week, implicitly ­mocking hopes of reform. The censored ribbons of ­expenses claims dumped on parliament’s website yesterday and the motley band of has-beens and eccentrics running for Speaker are part of the same thing. The language of the new politics is being rallied to the ­defence of the old. Progressive phrases flew at the Speaker candidates’ hustings a few days ago. They had to, for form’s sake: “modernisation … openness … an ambassador for parliament … the public needs to feel that this is a House which puts their concerns first”. MPs sense that whoever is their Speaker must talk the new talk. But most of the people who said these things did not mean them, and the ones who did will not win. A parliament that wanted to move on would not be about to choose between John Bercow and Margaret Beckett in a partisan battle that is all about interparty revenge. And a parliament that felt collective remorse would not have allowed its past expenses to come out dripping with the black electric ink of the censor’s pen. This is freedom from information, openness in a V-sign, two fingers held up to the voters. Why should anyone respect the Commons more today than a week ago, when they know the Telegraph has published everything and Westminster’s insulting response has been to hide the truth? Horses and shut stable doors don’t even begin to describe the attempt to block anything significant – a task that cost at least £1.2m, at a time when politicians are lecturing the public about spending cuts and waste. Secrecy is a British habit, but these days even generals are protesting about Gordon Brown’s decision to keep the Iraq inquiry under wraps. Perhaps the prime minister still thinks it is a good idea to blank out everything apart from “gardening”, “TV” and a total £3,199.49 claim from the first page of his latest additional costs form. But then every MP who put in rotten claims shares responsibility. George Osborne, we found out yesterday, claimed £47 for two DVDs of one of his own speeches – in a debate on delivering taxpayers value for money. Ed Balls claimed £58.75 to sponsor a ball at Ossett Town AFC. George ­Galloway, that self-declared parliamentary ­crusader, put in a communications claim for £10,000, paid to his sidekick Ron McKay. Some claims are ­outrageous, others stupid and of course some are fair – but as anyone who joins the Guardian’s collective online attempt to review every page can see, the system ­encouraged self-enrichment. Michael Martin, who allowed this to happen, has gone at last, and his ­bitter little speech on Wednesday did nothing to suggest he should have stayed. He mouthed the old sentimentalities about the mother of parliaments, having failed to protect its modern reputation. He could have asked his officials at the time which expenses they were approving. Then he got through two sets of lawyers in his fight to stop the details being released. But at his departure he pointed out something that is also true: the party leaders stopped expenses reform in a vote last year. Brown and his gang did their bit, encouraging the 146 Labour MPs, including 33 ministers, who voted against change. Harriet ­Harman, the leader of the house, has been ­perpetually behind the curve. Kicking out the old Speaker will not remove this culture any more than picking a new one will end the intrinsic conservatism of the Commons. Hostility to reform is part of the fabric of the place. It flows down Pugin’s dark corridors, across gaudy Victorian carpets, under the locked oak doors of its committee rooms – and yesterday on to the web. The public, who see politics played as a sporting fixture between opposing teams, may not realise that underneath they are on the same side. The group-think at Westminster is always to protect the herd from threats, and the expenses crisis is a monstrous recent example. That is why Frank Field, who would be a fearless and exacting Speaker, was ­ostracised and then pulled himself out of the race. Sir George Young, who of all current candidates most deserves to win, as a man of probity and some ­rigour, at least still has a chance. But the whips are busy lining up their gangs in support of more malleable ­candidates. Labour is backing a Tory, John Bercow, who has smarmed his way into their hearts, while the Tories are pulling behind Margaret Beckett, who was still in the government at the start of the month. The prospect of either winning is disheartening. Bercow is Jonathan Aitken’s one-time special adviser, and faced down Norman Tebbit from the right as a student politician. Now he is standing as the candidate of progress. He is hated by Tories, which might not count against him except that his Labour supporters are backing him only for this reason. He has published a plausible manifesto, which gives his supporters cover to say they are in favour of reform. But ­parliament does not need a Speaker who regards politics as a game. Beckett, meanwhile, is the old lags’ candidate, the warhorse trying one more trot round the paddock. Her career has been devoted to the acquisition and deployment of executive power, always ready to fill a spare ministerial job. She was leader of the house at the noonday of Tony Blair’s presidential pomp. Her expenses claims do not stand scrutiny either – but then for some of her supporters that is no doubt the attraction. Yet her candidacy is no stranger than some of the others in the race, including Martin’s deputies, pontificating as if there were no crisis at all. Then there is Parmjit Dhanda, who is calling for “a more deferential parliament”, as if its lack of modesty in the face of strong government has been its principal failing. He stands little chance; nor does Richard Shepherd, a noble libertarian Tory, who always looks distressed by the world as he finds it. But distress alone is not a sufficient qualification. No one has much of an opinion about bland Alan Beith. Ann Widdecombe is running so she can resign next year – and it is a sign of how low things have sunk that even some progressives are wondering whether she may not be their best choice. On Monday MPs will almost certainly pick an individual not to ensure things are done differently but to keep them the same. They have been found out and are trying to mitigate their losses.

In fact the behaviour of the corrupt clique on Greenwich Borough Council is not only the exact opposite of Lambeth’s current stance, Greenwich has behaved in a way that would make any odd petty dictatorship very proud of the disgraceful way they have treated the lone opponent on the Council who spoke out against the corrupt Council’s peddling of Crossrail.

2120 Hrs GMT London Tuesday 16 June 2009: KHOODEELAAR! TOLD Blair and Brown so! ON 10 June 2006! That BOTH were wrong to promote CRASSrail agenda, albeit in doing so BOTH were being evidently cautious…. So how much of the economic analysis did KHOODEELAAR! get right? Just a reading of the item will show that were got it as accurate as any objective student of economics could be expected to do as gar back as 10 June 2006. We said that the world economy was NOT growing. And that the Uk economy was on a downward slope. But despite getting all of that right, we were still witnessing the display of institutional, individual and intellectual IGNORANCE, inertia and backwardness on the parts of all the holders of the key positions in the UK Govt and inside the UK Parliament… We got it more right than the so-called Nobel prize-pocketing and allegedly Brown-praising USA economist did three years later…So we say again, on Tuesday 16 June 2009 that far from the world economic tend being ready for recovery, things will be quite negative… Unless the ones in positions of power stop abusing their powers, unless they curb their corrupting propensities and stop bribing people as an alternative to offering people real economic engagement….. We say to Gordon Brown again to scrap Crossrail and to get back to applying the funds where existing transport and related infrastructures need them…And extrapolating the same analysis, we tell G Brown again to stop faking it… We have noted his latest staged behaviour from the Stepney Green school… We remind Brown of our constitutionally, democratic, ethical moral and campaigning intention to make sure that he is held to account for every banal utterance that he made from the Stepney Green school platform in the past week..
