To quote your report on Boris Johnson’s launch of his London mayor candidature “a firm commitment to the CrossRail link from Paddington to Liverpool Street”!

This is even more bizarre than all the other bizarre things we have identified in what we have called the ‘CRASSrail’ project.

Have the promoters of the CrossRail scheme already conceded that the scheme is CRASS and have curtailed it. We thought that the current CROSSRAIL BILL was about a line that went as far as Shenfield in Essex and farther to the West of Paddington, at least to Heathrow!

We knew that Boris Johnson had changed his positions on things in the past. But this must be a first – changing the length of the Crossrail line and leaving out Heathrow even before he has been formally adopted and announced a Party candidate.

At this rate, there may still be hope of getting rid of the CRASSrail altogether, so fundamentally flawed.

And on this basis, we can back the campaign for Boris Johnson as mayor…hoping that by the time that the polling date is upon us, he will have waffled away the office of mayor of London too, thus saving the people of London.. so much waste of time, resource and energy that the expensive ego-promotion project of having a mayor has entailed…
